' Life of A Borrowed Candle ..."

(Ps. 39: 5 / Ps. 78: 33 / Ps. 144: 3, 4 / James 4: 14, 15)

Remember, If You're Living On A Borrowed Candle …
You're Living On Someone Else's Schedule

For Living On A Borrowed Candle
Is Like Walking In A Worn-Out Sandal
It's Like A Tenuous-Tether On A Ton of Gravel
It's Like The Last Crumbling-Tower of A Castle

It's Like Holding A Stop-Sign Up To Stampeding Cattle
Or Sitting Hillside As An Avalanche Tramples
Or In A Boat On A River Without A Paddle
Or Like A Baby Shaking Eggshell Rattles

If You're Living On A Borrowed Candle
It's Like Riding Stallions Backwards Without A Saddle
It's Like Being Lost In The Desert Without A Camel
It's Like Buying A Blank & Torn Ticket Raffle

If You're Living On A Borrowed Candle
It's Like Backpacking With A Big Heavy Satchel
It's Like A Cut Rose With Only One Last Petal
It's Like Riding A Bicycle That Has Just One Pedal

Living Life On A Borrowed Candle …
It's Like An Old TV With Only One Channel
It's Like A Couple's Touch When Its Only Sexual
It's Like A Coward At Your Back In A Battle
& It's Like A Heart Filled With Hopeless Shrapnel

Remember, If You're Living On A Borrowed Candle
You're Living On Someone Else's Schedule
So Gratitude Is Not A Hassle
Appreciation Is Actually Intellectual
(For Only Ungrateful Shows Are Up For Cancel)

So … Living Life On A Borrowed Candle
Is Like Eating That Last Shaved Carving of An Apple
It's Like That Last Stitch of Clothing That Unravels
It's Like Using That Last Free-Love-Soap Sample
It's Like That Last Fall of The Tower of Babel
and Like Noah's Ark Leaving That Last Outside Animal

See, For Some – Borrowed Candles Don't Last
And Some Borrowed Candles Are Used Up Fast
And Some Borrowed Candles Can't Ask
To Borrow Another One After Their Dark Past …
(But That's Why We Need The Candlemaker's Cast)

Life Lived On A Borrowed Candle
Is Like A Last Chance On A Lost Cause Tactical
Or The Last Lie Told Standing Before The Factual
It's Like Taxes Trying To Evade The Federal
It's Like Cancer Waiting At Death's Door Terminal
(Things Catch Up To Us … Eventual)

… For Your Candle Light May Go Out One Day
When The Great Storm Coming – Comes Your Way
And Your Comfort Zone Is Ice Cold and Gray
And You Can't Borrow What You Can't Pay

No Matter What Others Say:
The Heat and Light of Life Won't Stay
In The Pool of  Tallow Left On Your Tray
Borrowed Candles Are Only For Those Who Pray …

And When That Borrowed Candle Burns Down
And Your Eyes Are Wide, Searching All Around
Shrouded By Darkness and Blindfold-Bound
Your Borrowed Candle Will Sputter, Close & Frown …

But You Burned Bridges; Burned Your Best Friend
Burned The Air and Burned Off Amen
Stop Burning Your Borrowed Candle Both Ends!
For Your Borrowed Candle, Right Now Is On Lend …

And You Don't Want Cost Paid Back In Sin
For You Can't Pay Back What Your Candle Spends
You Cannot Make That Kind of Candle-Skin
And Don't Be Like A Thief Who Tries To Break-In
You Won't Be Able To Ask To Borrow The Candle Again
(and Listen:  If You Curse The Flame, You Won't Win)

Living On A Borrowed Candlestick
One Must Keep The Borrowed Candle Lit
Even While Burning It – Bit by Bit
You Don't Want A Burnt-Out, Dirty Wick
(For Candle Light Leads Lives Out of Pits)

But Candles Can't Light Without Flame
Candles Need A Maker and Match-Strike Aim
All Borrowed Candles Wax and Claim
When Future Glows Bright or Flickers Fame

But If Put Out In Shadows Or Shame
Or Extinguished Along With Its Borrowed Name
When That Last Breeze Blows & Don't Exchange
That Borrowed Candle Will Never Again Blaze

Life Lived On A Borrowed Candle
Is Like A Formal Event and You're Dressed Casual
Is Like A Snail's Pace Going To Time's Capsule
And Its Just A Moment To Steal To Rogues & Rascals

Living Life On A Borrowed Candle
Makes Some Feel Like An Out of Water Mackerel
And For Bored Flames Its Too Routine & Practical
And For Impatient Fire Its Too Late & Technical

Living Life On A Borrowed Candle
Sometimes Makes Some Desperate Rebels
Sometimes Some Flare To Be Insensible
And Others To Just Downright Criminals

When Living Life On A Lantern's Borrowed Candle
Protect Valuable Heart-Sparks From Vandals
Protect Your Bonfire-Eyes From Cannibals
and Your Torch Smile From Tarnished Lamp Enamel
(Yes, Protect Your Beacon-Signals From Rabble)

Living On A Borrowed Candle's Rations
Is Like Stuck In A Congealed Fat Form & Factions
It's Like The Brink of An Idea You Can't Fathom
It's Like A Conquered People's One Last Anthem

… It's Like Picking A Closed Route Used Seldom & Random
It's Like That Last Gas Station – Hoping It Ain't Abandoned
It's Like Making That Same Bad Choice As … Adam
(Yet, I Live On A Borrowed Candle's Ransom)

I Live Life On A Borrowed Candle
But Even If Thin-Line I Do Not Straddle
For Joy Is Too Sweet & Strong To Settle
And Life's Passions Heats Like A Furnace Does Metals

I Live Life Like I'm On Spectacle
Each Beautiful Light – Delights & Delectable
Like A Red, Yellow and Blue Flame Colorful
Warm, Vibrant Energy Flowing Free and Natural

On The Mountain of Purpose I Am Just A Pebble
A Candle In HIS Silver Candelabra Cradle & Medals
Among Candle Holders of Pearls, Diamonds, Rubies, Emeralds
‘i' Am Just A Borrowed Candle Individual

Living Life On A Borrowed Candle
Is Like The Last Trip's Turns In Tunneled Travels
So Take Care of Candle Like It's Special!
and You'll Get To Borrow One Bigger – Even Several

* * * * * * * * * *

I Borrowed A Beautiful, Scented Candle
It Was Placed On My Family's Fireplace Mantle
It Was Put In A Holder That I Could Handle
Thru Lightning Storms and Thunder's Anvils …

And When It Melted … Slow and Gradual
… i Borrowed Another - - - Tho' In Actual …
It Was A Gift From GOD's Own Vestibule
From The Father of All Lights - - - Celestial

Remember, If You're Living On A Borrowed Candle
You're Living On Someone Else's Schedule
So Gratitude Is Not A Hassle
Appreciation Is Intellectual
(For Only Ungrateful Shows Are Up For Cancel)

I Got Life From A Borrowed-Candle-Supplier
And My Life's Eyes Glows Brighter and Brighter
My Life's Days Shines Lighter and Lighter
My Life's Hand Grips Tighter and Tighter
So That My Heart Drips The Wax Seal of HIS Writer
