Goodbye Donegal

            Goodbye Donegal       May 26, 2013

Last night with friends we had a few and more
Tomorrow morning without them I leave Irelands shore
I'll fly the big bird to my future, just me
Say goodbye to my old friends, its new friends for me
Donegal I will miss you, but I want to be free
No more unemployment, no not for me
A share of the future with thoughts of my past
I go to my new land, I'm leaving at last
If I make it there, if I become one of them
I'll sing for my new land, I'll walk proud and tall
I'll be at home away from home, I'll still miss you all
If I ever feel down, and I know that I will
I'll sing songs from the old land, I love Ireland still
Last night with friends we had a few and more
Tomorrow morning without them I leave Irelands shore
