 Poems by The Old Cowboy

You Never Know

You set in the early morning sun watching flowers grow
See the  gleaming grass wet under a shining rainbow
But come tomorrow you never know

Hold your loved ones near and gently so
Lift them up when ever they feel low
But come tomorrow you never know

Watch a stream of deep water flow
Smell the honey suckle drifting by slow
But come tomorrow you never know

Enjoy a fall breeze carrying leaves as it blows
Young horses trotting  through green meadows
But come tomorrow you never know

Memories in the mind like so many old photos
Long forgotten times and friendly fellows and foes
But come tomorrow you never know

The billowing cloud of the first winters snow
Wondering about the path you chose
But tomorrow you never know

Today live your life with out any sorrow
For as we age the path grows narrow
But come tomorrow you never know
