Across The River

Across the river I see what my future could be,
Trees swaying in total and complete obedience to the wind,
Their limbs steadily swinging in serene submission.
Directed in a everlasting chorus,
Singing whimsically without words,
My true and delicate form blooming.
The trees sway as if they know my heart beat
A true and living song,
Like a sadness that hits like waves at the bank.
Across the river my future is known,
Like a whisper that only few will never know.
Telling my story of sadness below and feelings that I never been brave enough to show.
So unknown in its vastness,
Greatness lies in my future unknown.
Doubt peeks through conveying its presence,
I stand at the other end seeing it and no way of controlling it.
My deepest desires and my greatest fears presently in my face,
Trying so hard not see it,
what can potentially take its place.
But not willing to simply give a shit.
Across the river my true love waits,
Seeking desperately to be in my place.
All too soon it's just an illusion,
I have reached my final conclusion.
Across the river I yearn to be,
Something else buried deep inside of me.
It holds all the answers to my questions,
This journey I am in is defining me.
Across the river I see for myself,
I must walk this path alone and with no one else.
Alone, secluded and created for me,
Across the river is a journey only meant for me?
