Some join to sail the sea, to drive, to soar or fly,
All joined to be counted; but none joined up to die.
Another hero taken away, in a senseless unprovoked attack,
Set upon by two armed 'men,' unable to fight back.
The country stands in silence unable to comprehend,
How such an innocent life can be so cruelly brought to an end,
Now we unite in grief and shock, together we seek solace,
Determined your death wont be in vain and no more should die like this.
For you; a fallen soldier, our flags will always stand,
The human race should now learn to walk hand in hand.
And as we light our candles for you and watch the flame glow,
We remember you as we lay flowers in the long expanding row.
Keep drumming the drums in Heaven, and we shall always listen,
Knowing you're smiling down as we see the night stars glisten,
The march you marched will never stop nor will your memory fade,
For in your son and in your family, a part of you has stayed.
