Command and Teach
Insist on things as you teach,
But not lecture as you preach;
Let no one look down on you,
To God always remain true.
Make your speech and attitude,
Overshadow in your mood;
Let faith purity and love,
Be guiding you from above.
Be an example to those,
To all who are friends and foes;
Converting to believers,
So they can be receivers.
Encourage them with the Word,
Through everything they heard;
Preach with your tongue on fire,
So their heart will inspire.
Do not neglect any gift,
That will help them to uplift;
And open their eyes to see,
The future within prophecy.
Keep practicing of these things,
On what blessing that Christ brings;
And for devoting the life,
To look beyond worldly strife.
So go to teach and command,
For many will understand;
What will be lying ahead,
If they do not change instead.
