Month began with snow coming down
Breaking two city records all around
Latest snow and coldest temperature
Two weeks go by and opposite is true
Election Day soared past 100 degrees
Earliest century mark our city has seen
We elected first woman mayor that day
After heated campaign along the way
Month of milestones and reflections for me
One year as a temp at same place 8th of May
Four in our group now has reached that mark
Sadly one will leave soon a new career embark
New computer system has began to take place
Transition in process for old one later to replace
Most main systems our temp group uses will stay
Training on new one might occur for us someday
Month of May brought auditors for records review
Along with first visit there by top lady executive too
Business casual dress code that day and clean desks
Passed inspection news by management with thanks
Ever since the homegoing of both my Mom and Dad
May has mixed emotions of times I am glad and sad
With Mother’s Day and Dad passing over into eternity
His death May 15th this year marked 15th anniversary
Memorial Day we remember those dying for our country
Or decorate graves with flowers in our loved ones memory
But how often do we connect that with the price Jesus paid
By His blood on Calvary when all our sins were on Him laid
Is it any wonder the host on Christian radio said on Monday
Believers have before their eyes a great door of opportunity
To strike up a conversation sharing about spiritual freedom
When the world is focused on physical bloodshed and doom
Thank You Lord for all of these reflections and so much more
I entrust this temp job to You for the plans You have in store
It is by Your hand of provision alone that You supply my needs
You will continue to guide my steps for You are faithful indeed
