The Café
Sitting in a world of froth
And chocolate sprinkles
Couples from magazines
A bell tinkles
She has no words
He wheels her to the table
Arranges her blanket
As quick as he is able
With shaking hand he lifts her cup
She nods, takes tiny sips
He smiles
Then wipes her lips
He talks, she listens
No experience of lies
Her hand to kiss
Inside he cries
Magazine couples rush on their way
Vital message to send
Failing to see
How true love’s beauty
Looks at the end
