Child’s tears falling
Heart pounding
Too scared of calling
Praying for light of day
 
Hiding from the monsters
Pillow on the head
Footsteps of the hounds
Shadows of the dead
 
Darkness  heavy
No relief
Terror bell
Hard to breathe
 
Told he is dreaming
Shapes he sees aren’t real
Listen to what he is saying
Before the beast released is real
