the ghost

 Stairs always creak
And floorboards always moan
Whispers only speak
When I am alone
Creatures howl
Beneath a full moon glow
Shadows prowl
Whenever a chill wind does blow
I read the ghost story
By the beam of my flashlight
Things appear gorier
Amidst the deep down dark of night
I hate when cats slink
Outside my window thin
He won't even blink
As he awaits trying to get in
Vapors, ghostly white
Hovers above the bed
I always shake with fright
And shiver all over with dread
