'Life Lessons'

'Life Lessons'

With nerves affray I sit in wait,
As if on pins and needles great,
Anticipation grows inside,
My eyes are open, full and wide.

They wait to see a coming day,
When all anxiety is swept away,
And I am left in peaceful settings,
The essence binding, never pressing.

A day is simply that in time,
Its measure never changes,
Yet when one sits in pondered wonder,
The measured time can pull you under.

Patience was never my strong suit,
But prudence is truly a blessing,
Within I have both for direction,
As I experience important life lessons.

~ 'Life Lessons', how many of us have problems untold
trying to cope with them, trying to envision what is
to come, how to handle it if and when it does, and
whether or not it is truly what one hopes it will be?
As a writer, poet, and author, I find each day a
never ending challenge to top my last effort -- at
the very least improve on it and hope it will be met
with some form of acceptance, hopefully enjoyment. Such was
the inspiration behind the writing of this poem. ~ R.B.
