When death comes unexpected
With loose ends left untied…
Regrets are always present.
We can’t push them aside.
All the words we didn’t say…
The things we didn’t do.
I wonder now if you’re aware
Of how much we loved you?
We took each day for granted…
Were not inclined to think
That moments in your presence
Could be gone in just a wink.
But I don’t want to dwell upon
What could or couldn’t be.
I’m just thankful for the times
You chose to spend with me.
This is what I will remember….
The laughter and the tears.
The spiritual encounters
We shared throughout the years.
The long talks about Jesus…
The things we both believed…
The memories that crossed our minds
In moments when we grieved.
This is what I will remember…
The good times and the bad
The fights and the forgiveness
The happy days…the sad.
The way you loved my sister...
The day that you were wed...
The brokeness you couldn't hide
When you told me she was dead.
The road trips and the camp grounds…
The tents and flashlight nights.
The craziness and cookouts…
The singing at the sites.
Life was a great adventure…
I know Heaven must be, too.
This is what I will remember
When I remember you.

~~A Personal Poem To Express My Love
For A Loving Brother-in-Law~~
John 14:1-3
Let not your heart be troubled: you believe in God,
believe also in me. In my Father's house are many
mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.
I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and
prepare a place for you, I will come again,
and receive you to myself; that where I am
, there you may be also.
