John Boy wants tablets and pencils
For Christmas
So he can write a story

I have five pieces of computer
Paper to write on with
A Couture Gel Pen

I wonder what
John Boy Walton
Would think of 2013?

Would he remember
Wanting the simple
Gifts of bards?

You can write your way
Out of poverty
If you draw some dollar signs

It's not real
But what John Boy wants
Somehow lets out the feel

E. E. Cummings said
It best when he
Said "Since feeling is first"

Back there I remember
At 16 reading that
Just like John Boy remembers.
