Dreams
I believed in the moments we lived
I focused on things that never were
Because they filled my soul with beauty
And took away the dark dreams I had.
Looking far beyond the black curtain
To a time and place where love was complete
Fears dissolving into the light we kindled
When we spent our time in total communion
In the gardens where peach trees blossomed.
We stood beneath the falling petals
And found ourselves in enchanted lands
Where life just melts away into eternity.
Along the river path we lost our senses;
Following dappled sunlight through forests
We made our way to a Higher Ground
Where the sacred smile shone in our souls
And led us to the tower where princess slept;
She was dark haired and dreaming,
The dreams had become what she was,
And Reality was gone forever it seemed.
Across the dawn the rainbow light scattered
And the amber sun rose to drown us
In a sea of radiant, tender fire.
When the holy kiss at last awoke her
She flew into the early morning sky,
Her white dress caressed by the breeze
Memories filling the spaces in her mind
Until she became the girl I knew.
I stood by the window as the sun set,
It was the time of bluebell wonder
When birdsong was the soundtrack of my life,
The air was slowly warming as the days passed by
And deep inside I drank of the silence,
My feet walked between the worlds
Though I did not move one inch,
Dreams within dreams, wheels within wheels
A new horizon rising in my Soul.
I focused on things that never were
Because they filled my soul with beauty
And took away the dark dreams I had.
Looking far beyond the black curtain
To a time and place where love was complete
Fears dissolving into the light we kindled
When we spent our time in total communion
