Poems of Lighthouse Bob

Just Outside #551

Just Outside

Yesterday, a mallard duck flew across the sky
and two red-beaked ones just watched it fly.

"Too lazy," I guessed, "to even try."

Today, an ambulance went whizzing by
and a fire truck with siren cries.

I pondered,  "Where?" I wondered, "Why
we never spoke, but hi and bye...

and the lady next door just died!"
