The sound of the alarm clock is a ritual of dawn

I try to slow the sun down with the snooze alarm
As the rosy fingers of the turquoise dawn

Drives white light into my room where only moments ago
I slept in dark slumber with dreams now erased by earthly light—

I wonder about this earthly light versus the light of dreams

Maybe we need a snooze alarm for reality
