The Other Side Of Pain
I believed that on the other side of Pain
was a reward for all
who taught their soul to suffer
for Your name's sake.
My part was to trust in your
methods to remake me,
along with being brave enough to
enter into the fire of refining.
Yet it was solely Your love
that was my sustaining power,
You held me through every
affliction I had to endure.
Teaching me well how to empty
my sorrow into Your ears only,
while all along you were soothing
the brokenness of my spirit.
Now from my pain
a new-found liberty has emerged,
borne only from allowing You
the right to destroy the ugliness of me.
