I am a monster in the sea,
All I want is to leave me be;
Before I asked to send a guard,
Since my body was badly charred.
Only my couch gives me comfort,
Since I have no need for effort;
And my bed helps me bear the pain,
To keep me from going insane.
Then I am frightened by my dreams,
Terrifying visions it seems;
Death and destruction all around,
Along with horrifying sound.
My body would rather be cloaked,
As my throat would rather be choked;
Allowing my neck to sever,
Taking away breath forever.
No longer do I wish to live,
Although my past God did forgive;
For this life I do not condone,
And I ask to be left alone.
Leave me alone for too much grief,
Leave me alone my days are brief;
No light at the end for to see,
For it looks like up to me.
What is mortal that He should make,
Always watching not to forsake;
What is He willingness to share,
Always wants to show He does care.
