ANOTHER DAY AT WORK

Cowboys going crazy
In dust of the day
Trying to catch the steer
That wanted to get away

Rope 'em by the neck
Lasso up the tail
Cowboys give cows heck
That's a tale to tell

All will come a ridin'
Four men to one cow
The cowboy way's not hidin'
When the steer does take his bow

Take him down or fall yourself
Tons of beef will hit the man
Have to do the job for wealth
That is the cowboy's only plan.

Spring, 2013 cj

(We were shown a picture of men
roping a steer in a cowboy poetry
workshop I went to, and this is what
I ascertained from the picture.)
