Comfort His people,
Go and comfort them;
Take to the temple,
He will not condemn.
Go speak tenderly,
That the time is near;
Those doing wrongly,
Their time is to fear.
For they have been fools.
Proudly admit flaws;
How they broke the rules,
Not keeping His laws.
Those without regret,
Have merely ignored;
That still has a debt,
And paid to the Lord.
Do not be afraid,
You admit your sin;
Your wrongs have been paid,
And been cleansed within.
Hear a voice cry out,
Make way for the Lord;
Yet many still doubt,
The call still ignored.
Make straight the highway,
Valleys become hills;
Predators now prey,
As the north wind chills.
For what was once sealed,
God lets it unfold;
The truth is revealed,
Believers foretold.
