'' You Have Finally Emerged From Your Shell ''
The seventh of July 2013,
One of the best days we've ever seen,
The tennis played was truly pristine,
The outcome no one could tell.
The worlds number two against number one,
In the first set Andy had Novak on the run,
Watching such skill is so much fun,
Both players are competing so well.
Novak fights back in the second set,
Who will win this one is anyone's bet,
They're the toughest opponents either has met,
The heat is like being in Hell.
Murray fights back from four one down,
Novak suddenly starts to frown,
Could he be about to lose his crown?
Andy's match plan is beginning to gel.
The match is flowing to and fro,
The two greatest players put on a show,
Who will triumph very soon we'll know,
The result we cannot foretell.
On to the third set and more of the same,
This is a fight an aggressive game,
The winner soon they will proclaim,
All our worries can Andy dispel.
Murray's triumphant his critics are beat,
Like Novak they are forced to admit defeat,
He has proven at the top he can compete,
From a very high plinth they fell.
Andy Murray you have made us all proud,
From the rooftops we'll shout out loud,
It's with talent and dignity you've been endowed,
Your demons you did expel.

Your heroic efforts had us all in tears,
