~ Beautiful  Rose~

One Dozen Red Roses from AnimateIt.net
~BEAUTIFUL ROSE~
(*)(*)(*)
There is a place on a mountain top
with giant trees all around
where some of my ancestors lay in peace
I have visited the lovely old place
a cemetery where some tomb stone's
are made by hand out of rock
that let the imagination run wild

(*)(*)(*)
Deep In the woods among tall maple and pine's
in a little cove where once was an old home place
through an opening in the trees the sun is shining down
on a lovely rose bush growing next to a tomb stone
just a slab of rock that loving hands have chipped off
the rough edges and made a lovely work of art
*~~~~~~*~~~~~~*
It has a lovely warm look of old age about it
and with great care were put the words
My Beautiful Rose.
At the base of the tomb stone are lovely wild flowers
as if someone had planted a wild flower garden
and had been tended with tender loving care
*~~~~*~~~~*
Near by is a beautiful old bench made of rock
the old man looks peaceful setting there.
smoking his pipe a rake in his hand
The old man and his beautiful Rose is only a memory.
that clings to the past a spirit that never gives up
*~~~~*~~~~*
That comes back ever so often down through the years
to tend the rose bush and rake and clean the grave
to set on his beautiful old bench in the peace and quite
and smoke his pipe and once again remember
the past  and feel the love of his
  Beautiful Rose
