Saw doctor at Occupational Health for CT-scan results on Monday
He said scan showed no concussion and released me to work today
For right calf, rib cage, shoulder blade, sending me to spine specialist
For blurred vision, he said can linger after injury before eyes readjust
He did specify some body movements to avoid as work restrictions
When I gave form to supervisor she said none apply to my position
One of those on the marked list was not moving my head and neck
How then would I drive looking both ways for traffic and stay erect
He also put on discharge papers to take medication even when no pain
One prescription is a muscle relaxant that causes drowsiness over again
How could a person take that and not only function at work but drive too
Some instructions just do not make sense in what they ask a person to do
Even after I told him I had recurring symptoms along with increased pain
He had already made up his mind based on the negative test results again
That he was going to send me back to work whether I was ready or not
With some work restrictions so it sounded better and the referral I got
He could have waited until after I saw the spine doctor and let them decide
Then supervisor said fill out sick forms for two days with note on the side
For Friday day after my accident then last Friday when on restricted leave
Why have a doctor say I cannot work if it appears to be counted against me
Then when I tell supervisor I may only be able to work 35 hours a week
She says that is okay, our hours are going to be cut anyway pretty quick
Due to lack of work, which based on the last time mandatory OT ended
Last day of month, with official schedule of new hours then announced
Lord, I knew extra hours would eventually end and I realize You have a plan
I need to work fewer hours to fully recover, uphold me by Your almighty hand
I trust You to provide all my needs for You understand my financial situation
Lead and guide me through any insurance loopholes and protect my position
Last Thursday afternoon, insurance company called me the second time
I was going to get back to her Friday since I had just got her toll-free line
Also I wanted to reach an attorney I had worked for to obtain some advice
But I sense the recorded accident report overall went well and she was nice
Above is only one example of the road ahead with workers compensation
I pray there will not be any obstacles with my pre-existing spine condition
That I will have fair treatment and careful evaluation pertaining to the fall
Lord, whatever the outcome, You are sovereign and in control over it all
