To my darling husband John who lost his battle with lung cancer at 2.50 am on the 4/8/13 after a long hard fight. Love always your wife Penni xxx
So many times in the last few years
I`ve cried and cried so many tears,
I could not change the way things were,
Helplessly, could only stare.
Frustration hit me,anger too
Because my love what could I do?
In these last few months, my touch
Hurt you darling, oh so much
I could not even hug you tight
Just pray for you each lonely night
Be there when you called my name
Life will never be the same.
Although so frail you sat one day
Picked up your guitar, to play
Sad movies, as I sang it slow
You played it all for me I know
You fought so hard to stay around
Yet you went without a sound
My guitar man what will I do
To live my life without you.
Only memories left to stay
Now that you have gone away
We will always be together
I will love you now forever
Help me darling if you can
To live without my guitar man
Let me know that you`re up there
Send me darling down a prayer
Help me to get through my life
Love forever from your wife.
