 The Telling Heart
I watched the colors of the rainbow bleed
Drained away as the sunshine leaves
The rain came as did the pain
A field of flower left to die and fade
A single tear turns into a storm
My sadness grows in size and form
The faces are gray, but so near
I ran away, but they found me here
I'll run forever like wind and time
So I can't be seen or even appear
I hope the lost colors paint many lives
So hearts will not have to live in fear
The madness is sickness as it takes hold
My love was immense, but now so cold
I looked into your eyes to search for a soul
Yet all I discovered was the void and coal
Rain to ash as dreams become trash
I look back at the blood imprinting a path
I kept running, but I felt so empty
Glancing at my chest, I saw my heart left me
It was striding back, back to past
"We have to leave or they will catch us fast"
It just kept walking in the rain
As if denying any and all pain
To simply turn its back as it said
"You see no colors
Because you left yourself blind
I gave you life
Yet you abuse what's mine
You feel no sunlight
Because you hide in the dark
Don't you humans know
Blackness isn't good for the heart?!
The words do not hurt
You're alive yet dead
Because I feel no pain
It's all in your head!
So let it destroy your mind
And what little light in you
Because words can only hurt
When you allow them to

...Stop running in circles
And challenge the pain
...Because I'm sick and damn tired
Of you running away"
