All the best stuff's been taken.
All the cool in school's long gone.
Instead of a rum 'n' coke at a co-ed mixer.
I get iced milk on a soggy cone.

Everybody's after the same crusty old dollar.
Wherever I've called home.
It used to be easy to meet and greet new people.
Now I get hollered at for sayin' hello

So, I've buried my face, bone deep in a book
I've casted off and away in an abandoned nook.
I've searched  heaven and hell
for a magic potion
to get my fifth wheel spinnin'
and my feet back in motion.
.
I can't take it no more
I can't take it no more.
With all these blood sports,
the warfare,and gore.,
There's bats on my ceiling ,
rats at my door.
I just can't take it no more.

As a young man out flyin' my kite
Mom and dad said things'd  turn out right.
But my carefree days ended far too soon
When my kite scraped the ground
busting like a balloon
.
I can't take it no more.
I can't take it no more.
One day soon,
I'm gonna even the score.
I tried to drown in the ocean
but couldn't swim past the shore.
I just can't take it no more.

Ticker takers took away
all the good stuff.
They'll sell you a ticker
but you won't get enough
Hawked my paper dollars
copper, silver and gold
For a leaky pup tent,
by the railroad.

I can't take it no more
I can't take it no more..
It's the same raw deal
when I shop at the store
I'm tired of being treated
like a two dollar whore.
I just can't take it no more.

I'd love
to sleep deeply
just once, through the night
spin fortune's wheel
on a midnight flight
Start work at eleven
get off at four
Gun my gas pedal
hard,on down to the floor.

I can't take it no more
I can't take it no more.
I dream I can't breathe
Since, I wheeze when I snore.
When I finally wake up
I've sleep-walked out my back door.
I just can't take it no more.
