Facing an Empty House

Many years ago I was gone for a time to another state.
When I came home it was to an empty house of the people I wanted to see.
For my parents had taken off and went to another place when I arrived.
There was a need to see them.
But the end result was I was facing an empty house.
Loneliness settled within me for the pain was indescribable.
The time they did return I was mighty glad to see them.
Another time when I was on my own, I was coming home to an empty house.
For there was no one to greet me.
I know when it is time for me to ascend into Heaven I will not be facing an empty house.
For many souls are there and will be there for all time.
Joy will encompass me when I am able to be with the ones who have gone on before.
I don't believe my own mansion in Heaven will be empty when I arrive.
There is hope the people I knew here in this life will be on board to help greet me.
This will be a crowning day for the Lord first then for me as His child.
