Youth's Light
How brilliant that light of youth can often shine
Such luminance with such intensity lasting for a time
With little control that radiance is wasted as it is unbridled
But that can be expected as the exuberance of being youthful
But as time progresses there is that effort of some control
The beam is focus to shine in places where it can be more behold
And so the photons are and can be directed where to go
So that the maximum can be made the emitted glow
With the passing decades there is where the intensity starts to diminish
As the flame may have burnt itself out to that point of being finish
And it would be quite obvious that no matter how the will to try
The fuel to that light has become exhausted and its beams die
The time will come when there is that surprise and start
As there may be that little flame just struggling in the dark
It may be burning little glowing and the degree of phosphorescence
That to those around seeing it would be of very little significance
There will be always signs that over time the light of youth will be fading
That is one of the sectors passed in that process of living
Then one day that light of youth will be out of focus in a way
Is this the type of price paid as we traveled along life's pathway?
