As time becomes what passes by
A glimpse of you becomes His sigh
For much labor was His to give
By blood shed for you to live
Love but His went to conceive
Beyond logic yours to believe
Labor of love He birthed you through
Your mother's womb as hers His too
No less but more labor went in
To bathe your soul from every sin
By sacrifice yet understood
He gave His life on cross of wood
He saw you through the worst of times
Blessed by the good with you in mind
He still forges ahead with plans
Calling each day to take a stand
Hold to truth that sets all free
Become as one becomes now thee
For labor pained its way to you
Labor of love, you Bride, His too
