Retribution
I did not find saving grace
in some lover's comely face
nor did I find redemption
in any man made invention.
I called Your name, You were there
when all others seemed not to care.
My life is Yours and Yours alone.
You knew it first, You've always known.
I did not find eternal peace
in silly words which never cease
nor did I find love which abounds
in songs of man those meaningless sounds.
I called Your name and You heard
when others had nary a kind word.
You gave me strength to make it through
now my heart, soul, and life belong to You.
