~*♥*~PATRIOT DAY ~*♥*~
~*~♥~*~
~*~ "We Will Never Forget"~*~
A PRAYER FOR SEPTEMBER 11Th
~*~♥~*~
Lord, we come to You on bended knee,
heads bowed and our hearts filled to overflowing
with so much grief for the many people who were
injured and killed on September 11, 2001.
~*~♥~*~
Please give us the strength Lord,
to get through each difficult and devastating
day that faces each of us and our country.
~*~♥~*~
We ask that You allow us all to come together
as a Nation, to stand tall and united, so that
we might help each other in our hour of need.
~*~♥~*~`AMEN`~*~♥~*~
Take a moment of silence on Tuesday, for the fallen.
The heroes, the victims and their loved ones.
~*~♥~*~
~*~♥~*~
~*~"9-11 AND BEYOND"~*~
~*~♥~*~
It seems like only yesterday
that loved ones went away.
Their lives taken suddenly
on that fateful, tragic day.
~*~♥~*~
It was the day the terrorists
decided to play God;
And dove those planes into buildings
and into Pennsylvania sod.
~*~♥~*~
Oh, why do people always
have to be so very cruel?
They really thought they could make
America break the rules.
~*~♥~*~
They thought by devastation,
they could make her from God turn;
But all it really did was make her
Trust Him, love Him... yearn.
~*~♥~*~
They thought they'd break America,
her spirit would destroy;
But she gathered up her strongest
and her loyal ones deployed.
~*~♥~*~
She fought the bitter fight
and she never lost her will;
And today she gathers strength
and growing stronger still.
~*~♥~*~
Her people pulled together,
helped each other to survive.
They may have lost their loved ones,
but their memory is alive.
~*~♥~*~
We never will forget...
Yes, 9-11 brought much pain;
But with love, loyalty and determination,
America rose again!
~*~♥~*~
Now may God be with her
and keep her loved ones safe.
May the people continue on
in this great land of the brave.
In the United States, Patriot Day occurs
on September 11 of each year,
designated in memory of the nearly three thousand
who died in the September 11, 2001 attacks.
However, most Americans refer to the day as
"Nine-Eleven (9/11)", "September 11Th",
or some variation thereof.
~*~♥~*~
U.S. House Joint Resolution 71 was approved
by a vote of 407-0 on October 25, 2001.
It requested that the President designate Sept.11
of each year as "Patriot Day."
President George W. Bush signed the resolution
into law on December 18, 2001
(as Public Law 107-89).
It is a discretionary day of remembrance.
~*~♥~*~
Initially, the day was called the National Day
of Prayer and Remembrance
for the Victims Of the Terrorist Attacks.
~*~♥~*~
~*~♥~*~
On September 4, 2002,
President Bush used his authority
created by the resolution
and proclaimed September 11, 2002 as Patriot Day.
He has continued to make similar declarations
every year since.
~*~♥~*~
On this day, the President directs that
the flag of the United States
be flown at half-staff and displayed
from individual American homes,
at the White House,
and on all U.S. government
buildings and establishments,
home and abroad.
~*~♥~*~
~*~♥~*~
The President also asks Americans
to observe a moment of silence
beginning at 8:46 A.M.(Eastern Daylight Time)
marking the first plane crash
on SEPTEMBER 11, 2001.
~*~♥~*~
~*~♥~*~
~*~ LET'S ROLL! - FLIGHT 93 ~*~
~*~♥~*~
She heard him say, "Let's roll", and then
As he laid down the phone.
She knew at once what he had meant,
Now she'd be all-alone.
~*~♥~*~
He had called to tell her, of his love,
From a high jacked plane that day.
And as she heard his little prayer,
He started on his way.
~*~♥~*~
He and others made a pact,
To fight for what was right.
They knew that none of them would live,
They'd not be home tonight.
~*~♥~*~
The terrorists were taken down,
The plane fell from the sky.
These heroes will forever live,
We'll hear their final cry.
~*~♥~*~
"Remember Pearl Harbor"
Was the cry in my big war.
Just like we did in '41,
We'll rise up from the floor.
~*~♥~*~
The battle cry, will now rings out,
As one voice, we'll shout, "Let's roll"
For to rid the world of terrorists,
Is now our Country's goal.
~*~♥~*~
A monument will soon be built,
Where these heroes took their stand.
We owe each one our gratitude,
From all across the land.
~*~♥~*~
Tonight let's pray, for these brave souls,
Who gave their very lives.
And for the parents, siblings too,
The children and the wives.
~*~♥~*~
So look around and you might see,
A hero by your side.
We never know who might stand up,
And fight instead of hide.
~*~♥~*~
I'm proud of those who serve today,
I hope we stand our ground.
It may take years for us to win,
'Till the killers all are found.
~*~♥~*~
Now GOD, I ask YOUR blessing,
On this country we hold dear.
'Till the warriors return safely home,
Then we can stand and cheer!
