Walkin on Air

Forever

Might I return once more this path to tread?
Would rebirth my lives thus perpetuate?
Floral carpets be Nature's daily bread,
yet fading death too soon them flagellate.
When born to die my soul on trek embarks
and time's modulated pendulum swings,
love and pain emulate soaring skylarks
and with hopeful tones my broken heart sings.
‘Come away sweet illusion, come away:
let us imagine we never perish;
do stay, beloved, eternally stay!'
Could I her lips and heartbeat o'er cherish?
Her cute twitchy nose and mind so clever
is power for me to live forever!
