  MY ENERGY CRISIS

When my energy is rare,
I have no pep to spare,
So the big tasks stay undone
From up-sun to down-sun,
As in saying,"I'm tired,
Oh! So wearily unfired,"
I just forget each task
And head for bed to bask!
Where, oh where, can my energy be,
I've searched everywhere pep to see,
Right now my vim has no trigger,
And my vigor is only rigor.
Did energy sail out to sea on ships,
Or is it stored as fat on both hips,
Is energy up front as my flabby tum,
Or toward the rear as my sitter-bum?
Decades ago, as a skinny child,
I ran in play, burned pep like wild,
Now this old gal searches in vain
To find energy on the earthly plane!
