A Message Found In A Bottle



When walking by the shore one day I found a bottle.
Inside was a note which was visibly seen to me.
The note was from a man to his love from far away.
I felt the urgency in the message of getting it to the lady.
Having known the lady in question I was pleased to deliver the message enclosed in the bottle.
There was a hesitation from Sybil to accept the message.
But she did open the bottle and perused the contents.
Having seen the look, in her face, I became disturbed.
Sybil relayed to me the person who wrote the message was found dead in the water some years ago.
He must have placed the bottle in the water before he was killed.
Tears streamed down Sybil's face as she thanked me for bringing it to her.
It was then I promised to never pick up another bottle.
