A pain within I will always carry
As I stood and watched I too hen almost died
To feel as useless as I did at that time
And how my very heart and soul it cried
I watched the wildest raging rivers fury
As in it away out there was a part of a home
As it floated down stream ever so swiftly
And upon it stood a teenage girl all alone
Waving her hands no doubt screaming so
And not a single thing a soul could do
No rescue equipment in sight not any
I felt so helpless as all did watching true
Soon the larger waves swallowed her over a fall
And this teenage Angel simply was no more
My very heart sank to its lowest ever then
As I and the others stood on that muddy shore
The feeling of not being able to do anything
That could save her life that woeful day
I simply cannot get this site out of my mind
As the wildest raging river took her life away
Sometimes there are things we simply cannot do
And this being should have all ask God above
To help us help others every chance we get
And to appreciate all we have upon earth with love.
