I Would Rather Have My God’s Approval

I would rather have my God’s approval
Then the highest of praises from men.
My greatest accomplishment in this world
Was when I was born again.

I would rather be humbled before Him
Than be lifted to any false high.
I would rather spend just one day in His courts
Than in pleasures that capture the eye.

I would rather look back to The Cross
Than ahead to a life on a limb.
For I’d rather have Jesus to hold on to me
Than to walk through this world without Him.

I would rather be naked than clothed
In the Satanic traps set for me.
I would rather be begging for crumbs from His cup
Than be banqueted by bigotry.

I would rather have God’s smallest blessing
Than the biggest of treasures to hold.
I would rather the promise of Heaven instead
Of dazzling diamonds or gold.

I would rather read God’s Words of wisdom
Than the world’s finest works any day.
I would rather be filled with the Spirit of God
Than be spiritual some other way.

I would rather believe that redemption
Will overcome all sin and all strife.
For I would rather have my God’s approval
More than anything else in this life.

~~Dedicated to Kathy~~

Psalm 84:10
For a day in Your courts is better than
a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper
in the house of my God than
dwell in the tents of wickedness.

Psalm 91:1
He that dwelleth in the secret place

of the most High shall abide under
the shadow of the Almighty.

1 Peter 3:8 NKJV
[ Called to Blessing ] Finally, all of you be
of one mind, having compassion for one
another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted,
be courteous;
