My Tourette Syndrome

I blink, I shriek, I shake my head
then comes the feelings that I dread.
The misery of "I cannot stop!"
sometimes I kick and even hop.
There is pain inside and out
and nothing stops me when I shout.
The words come quick from my head
and I wish it were never said.
I run with the tears, I try to hide
but no matter what I hurt inside.
It includes the pain from when I move
and the thoughts that I can't prove.
Some may not know it's even real
and how these tics, they make me feel.
I spend my life in need of peace
and I wish the barking noise would cease.
It's not fatal and I'm not insane
because I have an unusual brain.
It is Tourette Syndrome that I endure
and I don't want to fight it no more.
Suppress my twitches, watch do and say
oh' how I wish it would go away.
