A PEACEFUL MUSE

Out in the meadow in the early morn
across the clearing golden light prances like a wild unicorn

Slumber's pillow is put aside
the day is ready to take its ride

Sounds of leaves  dancing in the breeze
shakes off dew drops at low speed

Fairies scamper under the tree's bough
as morning light takes a bow

Blue birds sing a morning serenade
while in ponds baritone notes are heard as toads play

Grass harps play happy melodies
reminiscence of music from the seventies

The man in the moon yawned a sleepy sigh
as evening's twilight sun sinks in the sky

Fairies awake for a night of fun
across the meadow they do run

Performing a ballet in satin slippers
they laugh and talk in muted whispers

Sounds of night fill the air
The man in the moon smiles while relaxing in his deck chair

Night winds whisper a peaceful muse
Slumber's pillow is again ready for use

Psalm 42:8   KJV

Yet the LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime,
and in the night His song shall be with me,
and my prayer unto the God of my life.
