What once considered of value,
I now consider worthless for Christ;
Because I want to remain true,
For reasons He was sacrificed.

But it is much farther than that,
And I would never have a doubt;
Knowing that the world is not flat,
Imagine costs of a payout.

When the Father gave up His Son,
What would be the price of a man;
So priceless for when it was done,
As written by God in the plan.

I consider everything,
Worthless other than Jesus Christ;
I am better off if I sing,
A song to Him than be enticed.

For knowing Jesus as my Lord,
Helping me through every day;
For knowing Him is my reward,
Learning how to trust and obey.

I threw it all away to gain,
For a relationship with Him;
Seeing how He endured the pain,
And still wanting to sing a hymn.

Through faith in Christ God has approved,
Giving me power over death;
Because all my sin are removed,
While I strengthen through each breath.

It is not that I reached my goal.
Or even completed the course;
But His Spirit I in my soul,
And is acting as my resource.
