It's been a long hot summer but don't ever forget
How cold this winter's gonna be
If I run out of cash I can always get
Some leaves off of my money tree
Corn in the pasture and the cows in the corn
Shrivel up in misery
Know why they're dying but don'know why they're born
But I live for my money tree

Take what you need while the taking is free
While the leaves in the shade are green

Til the cold strips the branches all clean

I planted early and while I was gone
The corn and the cows went away
All of the friends that I knew came along
And they're hanging around to this day
Everything I ever had is forgotten
All that I ever will be
