When the Ashes Fell

Trevor and Sybil were in their home on a winter's night.
The fireplace was  blazing as it always did.
A time of the couple was to go up to bed.
They had a love which wouldn't stop.
They were somewhat unbridled; in their passion.
Well, it came to the point that Trevor had something to say to Sybil.
He informed her of another person; in his life.
As quickly as she could she gathered up her belongings and took off for parts unknown.
When the morning light came around the only one there was Trevor.
It was then he noticed something peculiar a note in the midst of the flame.
When the ashes fell off the note he perused it and spoke of his infidelity and how she hated what he had told her.
The two never got together again and fortunately, there were no children.
