A Christmas In Newport

There was a time when it seemed like Christmas would have to go unnoticed at our home.
There was no tree or anything to have for the holiday.
Then a friend of mine, Mr. Carl M., had secured the things for us.
It was a time of remembering which I will never forget.
There was a fresh cut green tree for our home.
The food stuff we received from the local fire department was all there.
This time was when Mom and Dad were alive and I had remained with them.
We always lived together.
It was a joy to have the family we had for there was love all the time.
Mr. Carl M. made sure we had plenty of something to eat for he loaded us down for the department gave us so much.
I will always remember the happiness that was expressed upon my face at seeing the things we received.
Some years went  by for us and we were the recipients of the food stuff again and again.
This is a good and vivid memory of the years we had together.
This was when we lived in Newport.
