We were once stupid and misled,
As malnourished and underfed;
Jealous and disobedient,
Pleasure seeking and deviant.
We were the slaves to many kinds,
That brought pleasure to the minds;
All of the lust and the pleasure,
That our fantasy does treasure.
We hated hating each other,
Fighting brother against brother;
And having such a jealous rage,
Lions fight tigers in a cage.
But when God made kindness and love,
For mankind to appear thereof;
He saved us not what we have done,
Rather creation by His Son.
For we have not done anything,
To gain His approval to bring;
Such of a mercy and reward,
If we were ignoring His Word.
Because of His mercy and grace,
We can feel His gentle embrace;
He saved us through the washing in,
The Holy Spirit of all sin.
So we are given a new birth,
Because the value we are worth;
Renewal to our spirit,
For salvation we inherit.
God poured a generous amount,
Of the Spirit that is paramount;
Through Christ our Lord and Savior,
Since the Father looks with favor.
