Autumn Leaves

We held hands and we walked,
We shared giggles as we talked,
We stomped through fallen Autumn leaves,
We fought through bushes and broken trees.

We crossed the road with great care,
we turned a corner and more leaves were there,
so we kicked them high and as they fell,
We created a story that we could tell.

We dodged spider webs and falling rain,
Joined our hands together once again,
To passers by we must have looked silly,
Enjoying nature though it was chilly.

You and I walked on together,
You and I bonded forever,
In Autumn when the nights get shorter,
We still live and laugh; mum and daughter.
