Get Out of Here!
Somewhere soft music played
and she wonders if she had stayed
maybe things would have changed.
Lost in the darkness of her thoughts
trapped within nightmares he still plots
until at last they became estranged.
Every lie he ever told to her
strangled love till it became a blur
now her mind began to clear.
Words of endearment cut like knives
soon they lived their separate lives
until she cried, "Get out of here!"
The oppressed regained her voice.
She unceremoniously took away his choice.
No more of this they were done.
She wonders how she had been unwise
to be taken in by his constant lies.
She tried to find the reasons, there were none.
Funny how love makes us blind.
It completely negates our mind
until we see the end draws near.
We try so hard not to fail
but we flounder and we flail
and scream the words, "Get out of here!"
