out with the felines

Chanel No 5
in a claw-foot tub

my favorite
black silk vintage
gown on the back of the door

veiled velvet pillbox
and gloves on the vanity
fill me with anticipation

and I
can't wait can't wait
to wear those shoes
with the Louis 14Th heels
their cloven spikes
tapering up into my dainty
bird ankles

and I
can't wait can't wait
to dance away those blues
the ones piled up
in the corner
on the closet floor
with my dirty work clothes

the late spring night is scented
heavily with lilacs
already the music of the disco
is a charming the snake in me
to dance
though its just music in my head
I've already replayed all of
my favorite songs
and scenarios.

I think there is
something like
the smell of adventure
because I sense it in the air
and perhaps its also kinetic
cuz its in my body everywhere

Friday night
school's finished and I'm so done
with sedate
ready to lurk
ready to prowl
out with the felines
up with the night owls
hot damn fun
gonna have some.

Remembering my college days,
especially after Spring quarter finals was done
and we were done with the sedation of education
and looking forward to an endless summer...
(don't get me wrong, I liked school,
but everyone has their limits!)
