God's Blessings
Looking back on all those unproductive years
and seeing times lost in idle, senseless fears
I wonder how You could forgive my iniquities.
Examining each selfish action I have waged
and all the careless wars which I have staged
I marvel at your ignoring those infirmities.
Why You overlook and seem to forgive
the sometimes unrighteous life, I live
sends chills through my soul's very core.
Knowing the boundless treasures You bestow
makes me more aware and grateful of the flow
of blessings received from You before.
If at times I overlook and often tend to forget
I eventually resign myself and do regret
those times I strayed from the path before me.
Your mercy and goodness I have always received
though at times I was ruthless and deceived
You picked me up and made me walk with Thee.
