The shadow of a demon wind
can hover ‘til its captive sins
consume and dominate a land
to separate its God from man.

This leaves him prideful, cold and mad,
forsaking all values he had,
a predator to fellow men,
even to his next of kin.

Dissatisfied with second place,
he kills to say he won the race.
Life's one theme is competition,
lying, scheming for position.

In time, the blood of those he's slain
returns, devouring wealth and fame.
He finds no refuge, peace or depth,
owns a nation, but nothing's left.

Matthew 16:26 [NKJV]
For what profit is it to a man if he
gains the whole world, and loses his
own soul? Or what will a man give in
exchange for his soul?
