Not much further By EDWIN FLORES, www.PoetryPoem.com/poetry2231 Unlock all Features - Upgrade to Poetry Prime
Worn out soles that trekked about
Years of wear prove with no doubt
This walk now mine is nearing end
Some rest for now, some time to spend
Alone beneath the shade of tree
Heartbeat and breath calm near to thee
Here we talk of what's to come
Again Father of your Kingdom
Your whispers bring comfort to me
My joy becomes reality
As your presence blows now my way
I close my eyes, wishing to stay
Stay to find where many are
Beyond white clouds and distant stars
As room awaits one more this day
Maybe just mine, maybe today
You say be still for time draws near
To save one more, who you endear
One more to fold who needs of me
One more to love eternally
Your feet tired again but keep
Moving forward, draw those who sleep
This day again that know not me
Tell them of life impaled on tree
Lead them to green pastures I made
Feed them of Bread, tell them who saved
This day, as proof my life I gave
Just one more step, with faith and love
Show them of what I spoke then of
Read my word you chose to follow
To those who want more than tomorrow
And when time comes you too will see
Was not much further for I've decreed
Dear good and faithful servant mine
You served me well, it's now your time
