Being a Friend to a Stranger

I am one who looks to a person from the perspective of friendship than to think of them as strangers.
It is true I love to write to prisoners who are lonely and need someone from the outside.
The truth is they don't want anything from me but a letter and a friendship which I have to offer these things.
I love to write letters for they are a bit of communication one can easily identify.
It is hoped that in writing to them they will feel differently toward the people on the outside.
I don't expect to get hurt in the process.
If you are a letter writer then by all means write to a friend in the making.
Don't think of them as strangers for a stranger is one you'll never get to know.
